  T. Nagy Tamás does have a good selection of cheeses but, despite the Frommer's review to the contrary, it is not exclusively a cheese shop. It also sells other dairy products, wine, bread, pasta, chocolate, olive oil and various antipasti. In other words it sells most of the basic foods necessary for human existence. There is no doubt that the shop is expensive. For example it has Oremus 3 Puttonyos Aszú 2002 priced at over 6,000 forints, while exactly the same wine is on sale at the Bortársaság for 5,350 forints. However, I would gladly pay extra for expert service. Unfortunately, when I was at the shop today there was only one assistant who was did not posses the level of knowledge of the products for sale that I would expect. Neither did she provide a high level of customer service. When I asked which producer the Stilton was from, she answered that "it is English". I tasted the stilton and dismissed it as "not the best." To her credit, the assistant then recommended an alternative French cheese. She did also know how long the Spanish Manchego cheese had been matured for. So, perhaps she is just a little flaky on the English cheeses. When I asked how much the Oremus 3 Puttonyos cost, she told me that the prices were on the label at the bottom of the bottles. That is hardly very convenient for a customer - I would have expected her either to know the price or to look for me. No doubt I will return to the shop. I went a couple of years ago and on that occasion I received a better impression.
