  The Szekely Hardware store is managed by the very helpful proprietor and has an excellent selection of tools, screws, and other main hardware lines needed to maintain one's home. Although Istvan doesn't speak English and my Hungarian is close to zero (for now), with the assistance of Google Translate he was able to understand my needs and I found everything I was looking for. His wife also operates a nail, pedicure etc. salon in the adjoining unit. Note: the shop is in Bakats Utca, with direct access to the street and is at the basement level, so you step down into it. There is a big sign above the entrance - look at the photos posted by the owner to see the exact sign.
