  This square is dedicated to the martyrs of Arad, who were Hungarian patriots executed by the Austrians after the suppression of the insurrection of 1848-1849. It is not a case that the most remarkable feature of this place is the monument of their leader Széchény István, which stands in the middle of the square with a huge map of the old Hungarian Kingdom. It is a good place to chill out, there are many benches and green all around.
