Who could ask for anything more? Maybe more space if there's more than two or you or you plan to cook a lot, but as a pied a terre in the center of the city, this is just ideal. I had a great time and found the location impeccable. An easy walk to almost everything. And a warm, congenial space to boot. John has thought of everything such as phone line for international calls, a computer ready to use, Nespresso coffee (delicious though I worry about all those pods), treats in the fridge and a very fine bottle of wine plus tips about the city galore. I would gladly return and happily stay here again.

Apartment Olive is cozy but very well-furnished. It is in the inner courtyard on the ground floor of a typical Budapest apartment building. There are no street-side windows, making the apartment very quiet. All you can hear is the birds chirping in the bushes around the courtyard. The other thing you can hear -- kind of -- is the hum of traffic from busy Kossuth Lajos utca a block away. Here, in addition to a grocery store, bank, and a classic bakery, you will find lots of great cafes and restaurants within walking distance. Additionally, there's a metro station and a major bus stop with lines going in all directions. It's incredibly convenient. We have also stayed in another of John's apartments, Apartment Max. Although larger and in a less busy location, it is equally well-furnished and convenient. In both instances, if you want to stay in, there is an excellent selection of DVDs, books and guides to Budapest. And if something goes wrong in the apartment, a call to the local manager brings a repair person very quickly. If you are new to the city, John's helpful information and great restaurant recommendations will make you feel like a seasoned visitor. Whether this is your first time in Budapest or you come frequently, you can't go wrong with either place.

It was enough for me that the apartment was centrally located, literally close to everything cool in the city. It was enough for me that the space itself is awesome, tucked away in a quaint courtyard. It was enough for me that the apartment comes replete with all the little things that make a stay away from home palatable...a complimentary bottle of wine, a desktop computer, all the toiletries you'll ever need, personalized travel guides with amazing recommendations, etc. This isn't just a place you stay for a trip; this is home away from home. These aren't services and accommodations that barely meet your needs; this is attention to detail and customer care. You'll feel the love as soon as you walk in the front door...

Delightful, awesomely located petite apartment in the heart of Pest. Fresh pastries and a chilled bottle of wine welcomed us as did our host John who happened to be in town. We stayed 6 nights. Excellent restaurant choices, markets and shopping are close by. We walked up and down the river each evening, very romantic. The queen bed is truly comfortable. We agree with everything written else written about apt Olive. We love Budapest and will return to stay in one of John's apartments. We can't be more positive about apt Olive; it's wonderful.

My wife and I stayed in the Olive apartment recently while we were in Budapest. It is perfectly located in Pest and allows you to walk everywhere. John (owner) has a personal touch ensuring that everything you need is right there when you arrive. From the fresh pastries, travel information, the coffee maker to the computer and phone systems - you will find Olive a wonderful place to stay. John was very easy to communicate with and even called when we arrived to make sure everything was fine. It is all close by - great restaurants, local wine shops and the fabulous Great Market Hall. Olive is excellent value and it allows you to enjoy Budapest as it was meant to be - like a local.
